Course Description

The vast Cambodian temple complex of Angkor contains over 600 years of Khmer civilization, one of Southeast Asia’s greatest empires. Through monumental architecture, timeless artwork and strong rulership, the Khmer kings have left behind a truly incredible legacy. This course will cover the history of the region, the religious and political atmosphere in which the kingdom thrived, the archaeology of the remaining temple complexes, conservation concerns for both the historical and environmental aspects of the sites and more.
