Course Description

This course prepares the line fire officer or aspiring firefighter to perform their job duties by giving them knowledge and skills needed to: understand leadership and management theories, lead a team, understand community relations and risk reduction, understand and perform pre-incident planning and code enforcement, command initial emergency operations and understand safety and risk management.

Learner Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this course, the student should be able to perform the following outcomes and supporting objectives: National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, at the Fire Officer I level.
