ZREC0115 - Digital Photography — Camera Basics 2
Course Description
Learn the fundamentals of taking great photos with your DSLR and/or mirrorless camera. You can now apply the understanding of the camera settings and functions from Camera Basics 1 to capture high-quality images. Focusing on the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, you will no longer need to set your camera to auto to create beautiful images. Learning to understand light, composition and techniques in shooting a variety of subjects will make you a better photographer. Introduction to composition styles, such as the rule of thirds, shallow depth of field and framing your subject, will help you in the creative process. We will explore the many types of photography that you can experiment with. Bring your camera and lenses for some practice shots during class.
Camera Recommendations:
The instructor recommends using either a DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) camera or a mirrorless camera for this course. Reputable brands such as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, and Olympus all offer excellent options. While both types of cameras are suitable, DSLRs are generally more budget-friendly for beginners.
