Course Description

Join us for this iconic, historical tour of Gordon Square, known as the “arts-for-all” district, dating back over 100 years, including the construction in 1911 of the Gordon Square Theater (originally a vaudeville theater) and the 1921 construction of the Gordon Square Arcade, which included a silent movie house, the Capitol Theatre. Stroll through the cobblestone walks, enjoying the many restaurants, arcade and shops, learning about the development of this Detroit-Shoreway area that made it so desirable.
