Course Description

The Executive Stewardship Journey is designed for newly minted founding nonprofit executive directors who are stepping into leadership for the first time, often with limited infrastructure, small internal teams or little formal transition support. This course helps participants build clarity, confidence, sustainable leadership practices and mission-aligned decision-making skills while strengthening credibility with communities, stakeholders and boards. Rather than focusing solely on organizational growth, the experience centers the human transition into executive leadership — supporting leaders as they sustain both themselves and the missions they carry.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Clarify your leadership identity, values and boundaries while exploring the shift from founder, advocate or visionary into sustainable executive leadership
  • Assess the current realities of your organization and identify the foundational structures, relationships and systems needed for sustainable growth
  • Lead with clarity and steadiness by making decisions that honor your capacity, protect your energy and keep the mission moving forward sustainably
  • Develop sustainable leadership practices that protect your energy, strengthen resilience and support long-term mission stewardship
