Course Description
Comprehensive training designed to prepare students to successfully test for the Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) national examination that offers industry recognized credentials. Coursework include Medical Terminology, Electronic Health Records, UCertify, Fundamentals of Billing and Reimbursement, and PAS Fundamentals that validates the knowledge and skills in alignment with industry standards.
Course Outline
Comprehensive Virtual Classroom Program is for 21 weeks
Topics include the following:
Medical terminology
Electronic health records
UCertify (MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access & Outlook)
Customer service
Patient scheduling
Patient registration
Revenue cycle
Finance and insurance
Patient encounters and billing information
Billing and reimbursement
Agencies and government regulations

Recommended to register at least 7 business days prior to program start date
Late Registration may require textbooks to be picked up from Metro Campus
Virtual program cost is $4000.00 (includes all text materials, Professionalism, CHAA Review Session, CHAA Private Exam)
Virtual classes by WebEx/Zoom and classwork on Tri-C Blackboard
Non-credit program and is not covered by financial aid (FAFSA, student loans, etc.)
There are no course prerequisites
No courses can be opted out nor accepted for credit
High School Diploma/GED required.
Strict attendance policy – attendance is primary indicator of academic success

Laptop/Desktop required - tablets/Chromebooks are not suitable
Keyboard & Mouse
Webcam for continuous use during virtual classes required
Web conference headsets are highly recommended
Intermediate computer skills are recommended
