Course Description

This course introduces the novice or experienced police bicyclist to the latest techniques in basic patrol cycling. This physically and mentally demanding course combines emergency vehicle operations for bike officers with patrol procedures, tactics, night operations, scenarios, basic bike maintenance and on-the-road repairs.
Learn to ride like a pro, avoid crashes and use your bike to foil the bad guys every time. Off-road riding and bike-specific live-fire exercises may be added at the instructor’s discretion.

Participants must attend all class dates and pass all examinations to be awarded the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) Certificate of Completion.  Certificate will be sent by IPMBA.

Prerequisites
• Current law enforcement officer
• Basic bicycle-handling skills
• Good physical condition

Course Outline

This course is for law enforcement officers new to or requiring updated instruction in the police bicycle patrol. A maximum of 10 students will be accepted into the class for the best student-instructor ratio.
