ZLAW1124 - Private Security Firearms Qualification (20 hours)
Course Description
This 20-hour qualification course for individuals working in the field of private security is designed to make the officer compliant with 4749.10 Ohio Revised Code. Topics include course of fire, rules of engagement and use of force.
Use of the following is included in cost of course: a semi-automatic weapon as well as holster, ammo, magazines and pouches. You are not permitted to bring your own weapon on campus.
• Background checks and/or department letter required 16 business days prior to training.
• Participants who miss any part of the training will not pass the course nor will they receive certification.

Registration Information:
The following must be completed / submitted to PrivateSecurity@tri-c.edu no later than 16 business days prior to start date:
• Online registration / must have an active Tri-C student ID# (S#) (Don't have an S#, complete the online application and you will receive an email with your S# at which time you can complete your registration).
• OPOTC Training Information Form (email PrivateSecurity@tri-c.edu to receive this form)
• Form of payment / online at time of registration
• Background Check*
*To schedule a background check with the Tri-C Campus Police and Security Services office, you must call 216-987-5326 for an appointment. Applicant must take the following documents with them for their WEBCHECK appointment: driver’s license or state ID and Social Security card. Payment is due prior to your background check appointment. This MUST BE COMPLETED prior to the registration deadline.
