Course Description

This qualification course for individuals working in the field of private security will make security officers compliant with 4749.10 Ohio Revised Code. Topics include course of fire, rules of engagement and use of force.

You must bring a semi-automatic weapon as well as holster, ammo, magazines and pouches.  This can be provided if needed.

• Participants who miss any part of the training will not pass the course nor receive certification.
• Background checks and/or department letter required 14 business days prior to training.
• OPOTC certification must be submitted to PrivateSecurity@tri-c.edu prior to the start of class.

Notes

The following must be completed / submitted to PrivateSecurity@tri-c.edu no later than 14 business days prior to start date:
• Online registration / provide S# via email
• OPOTC Training Information Form (email PrivateSecurity@tri-c.edu to receive the form)
• Form of payment / online
• Background Check* 

*To schedule a background check with the Tri-C Campus Police and Security Services office, you must call 216-987-5326 for an appointment. Applicant must take the following documents with them for their WEBCHECK appointment: driver’s license or state ID and Social Security card. Payment is due prior to your background check appointment. This MUST BE COMPLETED prior to the registration deadline.
