Course Description

This comprehensive 80-hour course is specifically designed for law enforcement personnel only and requires department approval.  It includes both classroom and hands-on training in specific operation of police motorcycles.  It focuses on slow speed maneuvering, tight turns and emergency braking.

Prerequisites:  

  • Current law enforcement officer
  • Basic motorcycle-handling skills
  • Good physical condition
  • Motorcycle endorsement

Students must provide the following equipment:

  • Department motorcycle
  • Over-the-ankle footwear
  • Long pants (no holes) and long-sleeved shirt or jacket
  • Full-fingered gloves
  • Eye protection
  • DOT or SNELL-certified helmet

Repairs:  In the event of clutch lever or brake lever damage, departments must supply parts. Levers will be repaired on-site.

 

 

Learner Outcomes

Participants will receive digital certification upon successful course completion.

Registration Deadline:  Monday, April 29, 2024   (Registered students will be contacted by a Head Instructor with additional course details after the deadline.)

Cancellation Policy:  Notice must be given 10 business days prior to the start date. No refunds after this time. Tri-C's Public Safety Training Center reserves the right to cancel the training course due to various circumstances.
