Course Description

This course focuses on the information needed to pass the National Opticianry Competency Exam (NOCE), also commonly referred to as the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) exam. Apprentice opticians are required to pass this exam to apply for licensure as a spectacle-dispensing optician in Ohio. Topics include ophthalmic and geometric optics; ocular anatomy, physiology and pathology; ophthalmic products; instrumentation; dispensing procedures; and the laws and regulations that govern opticianry.
