Course Description

This self-paced online course trains workers and employers on recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. It includes information on workers' rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint.

Course Outline

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • OSHA record-keeping
  • Walking and working surfaces
  • Safety orientation
  • Fire safety
  • Forklift safety
  • Hot water permits
  • Electrical safety
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Hearing safety
  • Hazard communication

10 hours of electives from at least five of the following areas also required:

  • Flammable and combustible liquids
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Permit-required confined spaces
  • Lockout/tagout 
  • Machine guarding
  • Welding, cutting and brazing
  • Introduction to industrial hygiene, bloodborne pathogens
  • Ergonomics
  • Safety and health programs

 

Learner Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this course will receive a valid OSHA 30-Hour Card for General Industry.

Cost: $275

Students have six months to complete this course. Minimum passing score is 70%.
