Course Description

The Cleveland Junior Honors Band (CJHB) is an ensemble for outstanding young percussionists and woodwind and brass players entering grades 6 through 9. Participants will perform challenging and exciting repertoire, develop advanced skills on their instruments, meet and interact with world-class musicians, and develop leadership skills.

Spring session information:

The Cuyahoga Community College Creative Arts Academy is excited to announce the premier of the Cleveland Junior Honors Band (CJHB). This ensemble is for outstanding young woodwind, brass and percussionists entering grades 6 through 9, continuing in the spring of 2024. Participants will perform challenging and exciting repertoire, develop advanced skills on their instruments, meet and interact with world-class musicians, and develop important leadership skills.

Starting on February 24th, CJHB will meet weekly at the Tri-C Western Campus on Saturday afternoons from 2:00 until 4:00. During this time, students will rehearse both as a large ensemble and in chamber ensembles. We are dedicated to providing exciting music performance opportunities, so concerts will occur at Tri-C and other exciting music venues in the Cleveland area.
