Course Description

Adobe InDesign allows you to design and produce stunning documents using your desktop or a professional printer. You can also convert your documents to PDF format or publish them on a website. This class will walk you through setting up the InDesign workspace, adding text and graphics to your document, creating layouts with frames and applying formatting with styles.

**Students will need a copy of the Adobe InDesign CC in order to do coursework.**

This course prepares students to take the Adobe Print and digital media publication using Adobe InDesign certification exam.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will be able to:
  • Explore the InDesign environment and edit a basic document.
  • Create a page layout and add and format objects.
  • Add and edit text in multiple blocks.
  • Add color, tints and gradients to objects in their documents and manage the color settings.
  • Apply style formatting to text and objects.
  • Modify graphics and add tables to their documents.
  • Apply transparency formatting and print documents.
  • Create forms and eBooks.
  • Add a table of contents and index to a document.
  • Create a final project using concepts learned in this course.

Participants will have 180 days to complete this self-paced online course.

Hardware Requirements:

  • Minimum Pentium 400 Mhz CPU or G3 Macintosh. 1 GHz or greater CPU recommended.
  • 256MB RAM minimum. 1 GB RAM recommended.
  • 800x600 video resolution minimum. 1025x768 recommended.
  • Speakers/headphones to listen to Dialogue streaming audio sessions.
  • A microphone to speak in Dialogue streaming audio sessions.
