ZCIS1039 - CCNP/Voice Series: Implementing Cisco Unified Communications Manager Part 1 v8.0(CIPT1)

Course Description

This course prepares the student to take the 642-447 Implementing Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Part 1 v8.0 (CIPT1 v8.0) exam, which is one of the qualifying exams for Cisco Certified Network Professional Voice (CCNP Voice). Presented in this class will be Cisco Unified Presence, Cisco Unity Express, and Cisco Unity Connection. These describe voice messaging deployment, Cisco Unified Presence, and troubleshooting. Through hands-on labs the student will learn to configure a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) solution in a multisite environment. CUCM v7.x/8.x will also be presented and the student will learn to configure users and associate them with phones.

Course Outline

Describe how the workings of CUCM administrative and service GUIs; Perform (CUCM) platform and general administration, initial configuration, and user management.; Configure (CUCM) to support on-cluster calling in a single site deployment. ; Implement a dial plan in (CUCM) to make internal calls and place calls on the PSTN.; Configure (CUCM) media resources, features, and voice-mail integration.; Activate, start, and stop CUCM services; Configure base CUCM components, such as date time groups, device pools, Call Manager groups, and other common elements ; Add and delete phones manually and using auto registration; Add users, set-up profiles and associate them with phones; Configure phone features: Music on Hold and phone services; Set up media resources to use for MOH and conferencing; Deploy line/device Class of Service using partitions and calling search spaces and translation patterns for call blocking; Configure advanced Class of Service capabilities, such as time of day routing, client matter codes, and forced access codes; Call coverage and configuration; Unified mobility (single number reach); Configure Presence and Busy Lamp Fields (BLFs); Configure DSP resources
