Course Description
This is an advanced certification course covering Fiber Optic skills, transmission mediums, and administration tasks required for industry proficiency. In addition, installation of Fiber Optic cable systems in conjunction with industry standards will be covered. Course to enable learners to be self-sufficient and able to start, run and complete fiber optic projects.
The Fiber Optic Technician (FOT) competency listing is the syllabus or objective of each individual subject item in which a fiber optics technician must be knowledgeable and/or skilled to prepare for the hands-on course training and the ETA (R) International FOT certification knowledge examination. The competency includes concepts of fiber optic servicing, troubleshooting and repairing; diagnostically ranging from the intermediate installation up to rudimentary design knowledge.

Learner Outcomes
I. Organize the skills, preparations, tools and equipment required for the information transport industry proficiency certification for fiber optic mediums.
