ZLAW1062 - Court Officer Bailiff Firearms Academy
Course Description
This Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission 40-hour training academy fulfills the basic training requirement per OAC Section 109:2-5-05(A) for bailiff, deputy bailiff, probation or parole officer, tactical medical professional and multicounty / multi-jurisdictional jail corrections officer that carries a firearm in the course of their official duties, or an employee of the Department of Youth Services who is authorized to carry a firearm while on duty may attend Court Officer Basic Training Academy.
Prerequisites: All candidates must be employed as a Bailiff, Deputy Bailiff, Probation or Parole Officer, Tactical Medical Professional, a multicounty / multi-jurisdictional jail corrections officer, or the Department of Youth Services.
Notes
Attendance Requirement: Perfect attendance is a requirement for Academy completion and is monitored per OPOTC regulation. All missed time must be made up. Make-up is $60 per hour. Make-up must be paid for prior to the actual make-up date.
Classes are held regardless of weather conditions, with the exception of an official closing of the College campus where the Academy is held due to weather or other emergencies.
Certification: Participants receive a digital certificate from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
Cancellation Policy: Notice must be given 10 business days prior to start date. No refunds after this time.
